How we work

Planning is the beginning of the management cycle.

A useful strategy sets direction and establishes the assumptions behind it. The same assumptions then need to be tested against actual performance, maintained as conditions change and revised when the evidence no longer supports them.

The working cycle

From a clear question to an informed adjustment.

01

Frame the strategic question

Define the management decision, the commercial objective and the assumptions that need to be tested.

02

Build the evidence base

Review markets, customers, channels, partners and economics using evidence that relates directly to the decision.

03

Choose where to focus

Set priorities across markets, channels and capabilities. Make clear what the business will do and what it will not pursue.

04

Design the execution plan

Translate strategic choices into responsibilities, sequence, resources and practical measures for implementation.

05

Maintain performance

Review activity against the original assumptions. Separate temporary variation from a meaningful change in conditions.

06

Adapt the strategy

Adjust priorities when the evidence supports a different course, while preserving clarity and management control.

Planning

Make the reasoning visible.

We begin by defining the decision management needs to make. Research is then organised around that decision, rather than collected without a clear use.

The plan records the market assumptions, channel roles, partner requirements, commercial logic and operating responsibilities. This gives the management team a shared basis for action.

Maintenance

Keep the plan connected to reality.

Digital commerce conditions change through platform rules, promotion mechanics, customer behaviour, partner performance and operating cost. A plan that is not reviewed gradually becomes a record of old assumptions.

We maintain the strategy through a regular review cycle. Performance is compared with the original reasoning, changes are investigated and priorities are adjusted only where the evidence supports a different course.

What this provides

A strategy the business can continue to use.

The purpose is not to produce a presentation that is set aside after approval. The purpose is to establish a practical management process that helps the business decide what to continue, what to change and what requires further evidence.
